Her brother's right, everything he said is true. I just hope Iori improves as the story progresses. Love is good and all, but a 27-year-old man with nothing to offer, no hobbies, no talent, no future… It's pathetic. IRL those people would die alone, probably by their own hands, this is fiction though.

Even as fiction some people see this and think that being a bloke with an dead end job is enough to get a girl, later in life when reality hits them in the face they realize that you need more to get a partner and a stable relationship, but this just gives the wrong idea and dismissed logical thinking, caution, responsability for the sake of emotions.

Most men are pretty clear about the insane demands of women these days. I don't imagine many of them think they'd get one, much less a good one, with a dead end job.

in japan there are quite a few and looking at this coment section... well i just dont know man, is hard to get a grasp on current day views even less of what people really think behind close doors so i find myself looking at this kind of mangas and thinking of how much influence they have on peoples minds.

I think they've said she needs to "do it" but haven't actually said that "it" is sex. We're assuming it is because we're westerners and that's one of our euphemisms for sex, but Japanese have this thing for vagueness where "that", "it", "that person" and so can mean just about anything. I do think it's sex or marriage or something like that but don't really know for sure yet.

I also think that whatever it is she's holding back on mentioning it because she knows Iori would probably go along with it just to help her and she wants him to do it out of his true feelings instead.

Rather than apologising to him, the brother should put Iori through a boot camp. Iori himself seems to be apologising for his very existence, so there's already too much "sorry" in his life as it is. He doesn't need that. He needs to straighten his back, raise his chin, and look ahead. Despite his self-deprecating and despondent thoughts, he's not hopeless because he at least came to that building again, looking for Mio.
