The author still hadn't fully put something transcendental to push Yuu into looking for a romantic partner, so (me, personally, who still wanted that from the initial statement at the start of the series) there was hope for somehow they starting to appreciate him as family instead of a romantic partner, even if most situations were implying romantic love.
Now the author has fully stated no, there's no hope for eventual fully platonical love, because Yuu eventually needs to get a GF tp show his mom. Which is the same as saying that him wanting to get a true family because of not really getting to do so with his moehter was just an excuse he came up for making Yuu oblivious in the circumstance he was put in, which is frustrating (for me, personally, because I found that false intention more interesting than just another plot about having to live with a family with very hot sisters and eventually ending with one or more of them).
