(Disclaimer: I don't agree with the title of the video, but this is the one I found on YT from this interview (apparently from Comic Con 2011).)

Wikipedia can be good, but it should not be your sole source of information.
That only really matters if you are doing research for a project and need to do a review of the sources (though wikipedia does cite it's sources, so you could use them and skip wikipedia). If you are trying to inform yourself, using wikipedia or a survey work is a really good start to get a hold of a subject without drowning in the details, specially if it's way outside of you current knowledge fields.
