I'm so happy it's being translated again. Minami-ke is definitely one of my favourites of school slice of life manga.
Right there with Nichijou, Azumanga Daioh and Lucky Star.

It's not true slice of life comedy if there's meaningful progress. If the author has solidly preplanned the span of the series, it's possible to include some progress, but that's clearly not the case with Minami-ke. In the first place the characters are eternally stuck in time, so such progress would be kind of weird in itself.
