So good and happy I stumbled upon this gem! There’s so many things that have yet to unfold and the romance is perfect that it keeps me on the edge of my seat! Can’t wait for more

This manga is a case of talent squandered, at least for me. All this effort into the atmosphere, character interactions and intrigue in what feels like the romanticization of brothels.

I'm coming at this as someone who is very pro-sex worker so I'm not disgusted or opposed to the fact that sex work is work. My main issue with this series is it feels like propaganda for the brothel system, one in which the workers had very little power and agency. The fact that the male mc is seen as a saviour because the female mc had nowhere to go and how this situation is portrayed in this story is alarming.

Sure, historically, I am aware that courtesans had a lot of sway and influence but this does not counter the fact that these brothels used their workers in dehumanizing and abusive ways for their rich clientele. It's like saying the team leader at McDonalds got their team $5 dollars more on their lunch allowance when the corporations is screwing over their work force.

tldr; series feels like propaganda for brothels and it would be marginally better if the female mc just started an onlyfans. Just marginally.
