Interesting series- the gaokao struggle is real, tho that is finally abating a bit as educational access is expanding in the country (and national education and financial policy cracked down and abolished many expensive private- especially foreign- tutoring programs and cram schools, and started limiting homework amounts, etc).

Just one translating nitpick- the MC's name- "nien" does not exist in official chinese pinyin spelling. It would be "nian" for a single character, and would only be spelled that way if it were two characters, and written as "ni'en".

I'd say this has potential, the art is good and the plot is great + I love documentaries and it reminds me of Wang Bing but there is way too much pathos, It takes you out of the story. Not all characters need to go through a tragedy, and the main character is far too morally upright, it lacks subtlety.
