Yeah, I think it's a commentary on dating sims in general. If you think about it, choosing a route usually (I have limited experience here, correct me if I'm wrong) kinda freezes all the other routes narratively. If the losing heroines don't just disappear, that means that the situations that the heroines find themselves in before their route (i.e. the gyaru heroine here is getting married to some old dude) still happen, and those situations are usually not good. By not choosing a heroine, Hareta is kinda damning all of them to their bad ends unless he finds a way to save everyone and still be with Misaki.Man, when looked at outside of femboy hijinks, their lives really are a nightmare scenario. The game system is not a nice reality to be in.
