Normally, it's the protagonist's job to either fix the broken girl or get killed. Misaki isn't just a heroine (male), but he's also basically got plot armor as if he was the main protagonist. He's too powerful.

Yes. And to be fair, in a lot of manga when a girl ends up having an emotional lash out, this is pretty damn mild.

Personally, I don't think she would have actually gone through with it. If she really wanted Misaki dead, she would have stabbed her first from behind and explained it while the latter bled out. Felt more like she was looking for a "flaw" in Misaki, to see him (her?) in distressed or fear, so that she can rationalize that they aren't good enough for the male lead.
