"It took me a year to find out what these pairs are actually called", shouldnt it be
"It took HER a year"? That would make more sense

And then on page 30
"You caught a mackerel yesterday right?"
We can clearly see that it's flashing back to a childhood Yae, so shouldnt it be
"You caught a mackerel long ago right?" Or something?

I dont know japanese I'm just assuming based on the context
