Mostly a character-building chapter, reaffirming the MC and his sad circumstances and missed opportunities. Now that he threw away his bucket list, it's probably time to ramp up the weirdness.

It probably doesn't mean anything, but the girl's rock pile could be taken as a cairn (Rock pile as a burial mound), especially when it was shown right after the story.

I have my doubts tbh... her shire being at the side of a random road with a sloap in a forset as we see in ch 9, across the street from his house being a ditch with no indication of that sloap, houses are at street level
Also, ghosties lil sis being around the same age as our MC

Rather than just "shes in his head" situation, I rather have her as an actual supernatural being, able to materialize and interact with him physically. I'm guessing, she returned because dude was about to harm himself along the way and finally an hero thus making her sacrifice back then a waste of her life/future.

The bartender girl friend? Seems like she is dead (or coma) seeing the tv with "problem in a member's only bar" news and the other person was the fat dude seemed to only saw the phone floating on its own or something.
