There's been build up for many chapter for the seconde couple and the main couple's realtionship has been building up from the start.
Also, it's logical that they did this, 4 of the friend had a talk about this, and the two who didn't dare to understood that they had nothing to lose with said talk. And this confession let to main girl to be even more pushy toward MC.
We also saw a few time that main girl have a psychic hability that let MC know what she think from time to time, and in this chapter it's one of the point that lead to MC confessing.
