A complete denial from the guy. That really stings for Hinami if true, but if not maybe there's an actual story behind why he doesn't remember her. He doesn't even have a known name (yet?) in this story and is only called "the protagonist" by the author...

EDIT: Big thanks to an amazingly humble and incredibly kind user for reminding me that I was wrong about wondering if he isn't the right guy. God forbid I forget a detail about their favorite manga because of the hundreds of other manga I read. My bad for offending them; there, I fixed it. I hope they're happy now.

it's literally only been 2 chapters since we got the entire lore/timeline of events for this series, where it was explicitly confirmed that MC is indeed her childhood friend.

come on people, it's only been 3 weeks.
