Pace went right out the window on this one. A LOT of pages with nothing but dry exposition, and the few that actually had characters act didn't actually do much of anything.
What happened, even just visually speaking, at the gate site is not clear. Was is someone coming out of the gate? A researcher-turned-traitor? Was there a beat-skip between panels or did everyone just go poof in an instant? Someone in a white cloak did something, in the middle of a lot of people wearing white cloaks. No distinct anything.

Yeah the action between the "thud" and the empty cave was unclear to me. I can't even tell what object made the thud. Is it a rock, someone's robe, a dropped equipment? Oh well. There wasn't much water in this chapter, lack of moisture

Honestly I’ve been feeling like a lot of the chapters have been nothing but exposition dumps for a while, kind of dissapointing.

The artist finally added backgrounds to most of the chapter but that made it worse since we had no backgrounds previously so no idea if people are close to previously shown character’s locations lol
