You don't want to follow the MC constantly anyway, he spends all his time eating cake or reading research papers on alchemy, but he should be showing up soon, since Abel told Arthur's assistant to go get Ryo if anything weird happens.

this story has a dual protagonist. we have Ryo as the MC. while Abel is the ''hero/chosen one''.

I understand that this is done to "set the scene" for the MC to save the day....but it's boring as all hell... the past three-four chapters could have been concentrated into one-two max and we would still have all the information needed...
It feels like the mangaka is stalling to increase chapter count.

TBH, if they cut out the "techno-babble" from the researchers and the inter-factional rivalries it would go way better.
Now, if they had some kind of punch-line where someone is babbling fancy stuff followed by comedic/karmic response then it would be interesting. Instead we are just getting another character babbling.
We are also mostly being told without much show... in a manga.

The novel has whole chapters of the MC spouting random technobabble interspersed with cake filled analogies relating college philosophy, that he may or may not understand, and explaining how right about now [insert story trope here] should be happening to them.

even tho is hard to believe, sometimes the manga is better then the WN, sometimes the MC starts talking about something and goes on a ramble comparing it to this other thing that has little to nothing to do with what we are dealing with at the moment and is like wtf, just get back to the main topic.
