The author tries to cheat when it comes to the show-don't-tell rule of story-telling. He doesn't tell with the narration, but he doesn't show; he tells with the dialogue. We don't see how things come together; a character tells us how things come together. So most chapters read like exposition dumps because most chapters are exposition dumps. Adaptation or not, the manga editor should stop this.

I’m glad the anime’s art so far is wayyyyy better than the manga, this feels more like a web novel or like a 1.5 light novel than a full fledged manga, the use of 3d cgi all over the place is terrible. Usually with stories like these the anime is ok and the manga is better but it seems to be the complete opposite so far so I guess yay for the anime
