Fun octopus fact: the hectocotylus is indeed the tentacle that carries the sperm for reproduction, but the process for it involves the male tearing it off and giving it to the female so she can shove it in her vagina and fertilize her eggs. Do not worry about the male tho, the hectocotylus grows back after a couple months
