I wonder if that leader is really trying to kill MC for no reason or trying to test him like Sophie was. Then again, as MC said the Rhapsody group wouldn't have been able to stay around so long and act so willfully if he was righteous and competent.
Typical bad guy small fry with a hobby of bullying. Can't face target of anger directly so resorts to cowardly tactics against those around target with misconception this makes them better, shows off to target, and completely ignoring possible consequences. After all, if Kei does manage to kill everyone, what's to keep MC from hunting him down and killing him horribly? It's like the bad guys believe their superior because can flaunt the rules as they want, but their enemies have to be good guys who follow the rules and have to show mercy even if wouldn't receive any.
This is just a guess but wouldn't be surprised if Kei ends up as the little dragon's next meal that' s finished before anyone wakes or shows up.
