Not exactly.
The whole Luceria arc in manga doesn't happen in anime; he summons Luceria, without much hesitation or problems, in episode 2. If anything, the manga cut off his interactions with the Katsuragi girl, which... honestly speaking, are no loss at all. (It does explain his motivation, but still...)
Otherwise, the manga follows the original storyline more or less faithfully.

So that's why I'm confused while watching the anime, so the demon thorns part and sylph world were manga original

To be honest I like the characters except for the MC... its condensed trash... doesn't have a redeem quality, no charisma, intelligence, strength, endurance, insight or wisdom... just pure raw dumb luck, and it's always carried by others...
There's a difference, for example in konosuba the MC knows his limits but he compensates this with intelligence, traps, and tricks and yeah some luck also, but it's not like luck only carries him, like with this MC.

so it's not that surprising why this was dropped... as I said I really wanted some development but from the start, I was starting to really hate on the MC and his pure dumb luck. So yeah even if this somehow gets picked again by someone else, I'm dropping it as well...
I don't understand how people like this kind of character? Are japanese that indulgent nowadays? with the severe competence in stories to get picked?
I just don't understand how this can get a pass and become "somewhat famous" while some good stories that should have been picked are buried. I mean no offense to the guys who like this, but it feels like "People bury the treasure, and praise the trash."

I was hoping for some kind of development... but it's like giving undeserved power-ups to a trash character that only has luck on his side and somehow things work out...

Well... hope you guys don't get triggered, but this was my sincere opinion of this...

Please spoil me and tell me if he gets some development later... because from what I am seeing not even gods can save his own foolishness

just curius, what did you expect from high school boy like him? and what do you think should he do? remember there something to consider like he has school to attend, do test and homework like 50% his time is for school. and better not comparing him with kazuma as he has aqua who can heal/revive him. MC here cant be rekless since if he hurt and lost a limb or if he dead that will be the end. and most supporting cast literally all experienced/strong ADULT. kinda unfair to compare. and all his age(friend) always told him to just stop exploring.

he could just enjoy his highschool life, but he chose dungeon, chasing his dream. hes been grinding on first floor for long time hurt left and right and finally struck a luck with servant. may be that why i dont hate him. he just high school boy who working hard for his dream but also know his limit. and its not foolish to know your limit.

well, the manga title is "The Story of an Exploration Hero Who Has Worked His Way up From Mob" so there will be development for sure. just slow and steady. i find this interesting because its like when OP character tell you his full journey before he was OP, most manga/anime story these days always skip that and went to result (become OP)

Say what? He may have had a brainfart in this particular chapter, but throughout the story he's shown examples of resourcefulness, strategy, diligence, preparedness and knowledge.

Well, thanks for going this far, Nerudo. I suppose I ought to leave it at that.

So,that ugly anime adaptation killed the goodwill from the translators,uh?

That wouldn't make a lot of sense--just don't watch the anime. In fact, the anime was signaling its inferiority from the start--and it was plain to see if you weren't blinded by depravity.

Rather than an adaptation, it felt like an entirely different project, and it was completely geared for an entirely different audience: elementary children! The nerfing didn't stop at only her, the whole damn project was nerfed😭!

You can bet that elementary school children were not the demographic the producers had in mind for that anime--not in the way you'd think first, that is.

so it's not that surprising why this was dropped...

I disagree. While you're right about Kaito, there is still much more to the story than him--and the manga adaptation, at least, spares no effort in conveying that fact; despite his appearing to be the garden-variety pathetic JP male protagonist, the mangaka skillfully uses him to paint an interesting picture; Sylphy is the single most prominent draw of this series--but, you have to admit, even some of her charm is illustrated through her interactions with Kaito. To go further (and even though I admantly maintain that no story needs lolicon), even the pedobait Lucelia--despite everything I've heretofore said about her, is made entertaining (in this very chapter) through her interactions with Kaito. So if you're reading this story strictly for its main character, then--yes--I can understand the lack of interest. Even though a poorly written main character would be a major flaw for any story, this story--through the skills of the mangaka--even manages to make use of such an MC to be so entertaining. Tunnel vision on Kaito would keep you from seeing that, and that'd be (or is, since you've apparently reached your limits) unfortunate.

That, if you ask me, is what makes this drop so surprising. The manga has a lot going for it: not in Kaito (who, by the way, still has time to change for the better), not in his equally banal romantic interest (whom, I hope, loses for Sylphy's sake), but in everything else around him--which nevertheless includes him via his involvement.

Say what? He may have had a brainfart in this particular chapter, but throughout the story he's shown examples of resourcefulness, strategy, diligence, preparedness and knowledge.

To be fair, and on the other hand, what he said about Kaito wasn't unfounded. Like I'd said when commenting on chapter 21, for every one step he takes toward leaving his pathetic state behind, he takes two backward--the author is pushing his "mob" trait way too hard. Doesn't help that there's apparently some sort of guideline that at least pressures all authors of stories like this one to make their MCs effeminate/avoid masculinity like a plague, either.

For example, Kaito is resourceful, and does have a habit of preparation, utilizing strategy, and gathering information needed for his purposes. With the exception of his preparation, he negates all of these: he does get a tungsten rod for combat, and even trains with it; but the one key bit of advice the shopkeeper gives him--develop physical strength--is advice Kaito refuses to take seriously, because it'd turn him into something other than the frail J-pop singers JP women like, apparently. As a result, his "strategy" is usually hiding behind Sylphy and throwing things from there; his "resourcefulness" amounts to begging aggressors to stop being aggressors (e.g., Lucelia) or using stopgap solutions that are either too short-lived to be useful in the long term (bug spray) or a double-edged sword (surströmming), but serve as completely inadequate substitutes for the physical strength he refuses to build.

To put it simply, he exhibits traits that would not only make him a good explorer but an interesting MC, as well as traits that make him as repulsive as any other similarly effete and dumb (ignoring Sylphy's interest--the act of a donkan protagonist) MCs in the hundreds of manga that feature them.

Well. Not that I have a whole lot of sympathy for Lucelia (schadenfreude makes her quite entertaining in this chapter), I'd not be surprised to hear that it's the Demon's Whip--the tree with thorny vines Lucelia apparently gets sent to each time she's dismissed--that causes her to show up drained of energy each time she's summoned. No parasitization by the Demon King means no endless font of energy to draw from, so she shows up deflated.

That aside...I think the average young man, when thinking of having elemental superpowers, did not dream of the water element. Another effeminate idea that failed him.

The Anime adapted the LN.
This manga is the one that went the original route.
The trend of manga adaptations surpassing the source LN/WN continues(Looking at you , Backwater Swordmaster, 7th prince and Shangri La Frontier)
