The webnovel translation I saw is like 130 chapters in or so now. In the last chapters of the webnovel, she absorbed part of the Pied Piper who returned during the Apocalypse and gained some of his powers, as well as a harlequin battle form. So she has some new tricks now.

But most of the web-novel between that and now is stuff like dealing with the negative nancy daemon girl he won in the contest, Yuuki's new form and the clusterfuck that entailed, the new dragon card, the dungeon cult, the secret of dungeons, and the rank up into Gods during the goddamn Apocalypse. This isn't even going into the stuff other peeps explained in previous chapter commentaries.
ok Imma need a picture of
Yuuki's new form
, if that's around

First time in history a Goulash became a Vampire
zombies and vampires share the same origin.
differences were just fleshed out over time in folklore.
they started out as the same corpse eating, night haunting revenants.

Nooooo they took a beautiful dark skin girl and gave her the Michael Jackson treatment!

He turned her WHITE :qq:
undead skin color has absolutely no presetting.
it can range from black to grey to pale or even blueish.
probably the japanese preference for porcelain white milk bags kicking in again, as in: the refined lady has to be white.
oh dear, this comment sure sounds a bit misleading...

I don't get it. So I guess this is another instance of quality over quantity? Cuz I dont see any other reason to sacrifice that vampire card as evolving material for Eliza.
Every card has Personal Acquired Skills.
When a Card is Ranked Up, they carry over these skills along with them along with their memories and knowledge they had gained which also allows them to form their own personalities.

Meaning, Ranking Up a card is more beneficial if it's a core member of your team whom you have been using for a long time.

Vampires are said to be creatures of the night, aka., being which are active during the night and stay away from sunlight (not related to some Japanese preference, but rather related to myths & lores).

The notion of Vampires having white skin steams from the fact that people who avoid sunlight tend to be more fair skinned than those who regularly go under sunlight (this is more noticeable in colder climate regions). This is because of the melanin pigment and some other factors in human body.

There is also the notion that skin turns pale the colder the body is, and Vampire are said to be cold-bodied creatures because they are undead class.

Though they are not depicted to be same as Ghoul/Ghulah or other undead/zombie because they have proper self cell-regenerate abilities.

A Ghoul/Ghulah or Zombie don't have self cell-regeneration, allowing their blood to oxidise and their skin, muscles and organs to rott. Which is why their skin colours are often not constant because colour of rott & oxidised blood isn't constant (it can be green, gray, blue, etc)

So if we see cards as living beings... and they are sentient have distinct personalities... didn't he just murder that vampire lady (card) to make his ghoul stronger? :thonk:
More like, it got merged with Eliza, sort-off like Cell Fusion.

And as Renka said before, when cards die, they aren't dead in true sense, because they just return to the "Mother Sea" and get reborn later.

Cards are immortal in a sense, they just discard their current body and later return with a new body.

Though Named Cards aren't like that, because if they die, they get trapped in a limbo, making it impossible for them to discard their body, nor allow them to return to their origin. They can be revived, but only by their contractor who named them.
So basically they could be stuck for life if their contractor dies as well.

If it ghoul to vampire, it's already happen in a few manga. For example the adventurer that got killed by dragon (?) in dungeon and become a skeleton, he evolve into ghoul then with some condition fulfilled he become vampire, forgot the title but it's 1 of the good manga i read for a while

Yeah there are series like, "Rosario + Vampire" & "The Unwanted Undead Adventurer", etc which showcases MC eventually changing from Ghoul to a Vampire.

Don't worry about WN nomenclature: they have a lot of mistakes on that front, some of which they fix when pointed out and some they don't. As far as I'm aware, the main issues there were/are that:
  1. They don't bother checking in japanese sources which monster/character does a name belong to (and therefore they lack access to the correct spelling).
  2. They didn't know how furigana and ruby work (nor that when copypasting Syosetu text they end up besides the text above which they were).
  3. For kanji combinations they don't understand, they don't check the readings and try to best guess, but they either MTL or do some quick googling and use the first result, even if it's in Chinese.
