Don't they have Earth-to-space phones in Future Montreal? You'd think she'd call home occasionally.

Which city was used for the obviously photo-based street shots of Side 3? I'm thinking it looks like somewhere in Italy. (I don't think it's Montreal, not even old Montreal. So far, I haven't seen anything in this manga that looks like any specific location in real world Montreal, which is where I grew up.)
