Salvage groups stand out more in the UC setting and I've never heard of him. On the other hand, that MS was the Rick Dijeh right? I assume in this setting, Amuro used it for a bit before moving to his version of the ReGZ.

More like, they made the Rick Dijeh based on Amuro's Dijeh when he was in Karaba, intended for him to use it but the Zeta Plus project finished early.

Closest I could find is that he seems to be named after a science fiction author named Barrington J. Bayley, but that author existing also could've been clouding my search results to begin with
