This makes the final upload for what is available from this series. I don't know who marked this series as "completed," but I changed it back to reflect its status in the magazine as "on hiatus," since it has been listed as "on hiatus" for several years (and is stated as such in the magazine itself). There are technically three more chapters that were never compiled outside of Gundam Ace, but this is it as far as compilations go.

I like that Nimbus has bolted on the Gelgoog Cannon's arm launchers and the heat swords onto BD2 to emulate the Efreet Kai (since its not destroyed here, most cases always had it destroyed in the California 1v1). Since every inclusion of the final duel between Nimbus and Kajima in video game format outside of the Sega Saturn game always ends up with just how their machines go as is, BD2 has the signature painted out red shoulder and limiters off, and Mr Blue Death only has the typical loadout (head vulcans, sabers, beam rifle and shield) to deal with the insane bastard.

Damn, so there isn't any more after this despite it basically being near the end? Do the other 3 chapters at least conclude the rest of the story?

The additional armaments added to the BD2 and BD3 really help make them stand out a bit more. Their basic silhouettes are nice, and the fully armed variant of the BD3 is cool, but the personal additions on the former in particular make me wish that it got even a P-Bandai HG release with all that stuff on it.

I had to read back the chapters where Kajima popped with BD3 in its fully armed state but he purged most of the equipment after humiliating Tristan (and some of the mooks with him), and the loyal chump being a pisswad in his Gelgoog. Assuming we'll ever get the finale, it'll just be Kajima with what he's got left to use, and Nimbus with the loadout to mimic his abandoned Efreet. If it'll ever be similar or different to the animated versions we've seen so far on the various adaptations of the final duel of these two grown adults on Marion's fate in game format:
  • SD G-Gen (
). The POV with Nimbus emptying his vulcans would be reused in a attack for G-Gen Genesis with BD2 when the system is turned on.
  • Sidestories remake (
). Albeit Mr. Red Shoulder here doesn't get cockpit pierced, only the head of his Gundam.
  • Encounters in Space (
    ).
(This is the ones I can find so far that showcase Nimbus going insane while fighting Kajima)
If Bandai would ever do a release of BD2 with the Gelgoog Cannon's arm blasters, Efreet-Kai heat blades/storage holster, and the custom shoulder pads onto the reskinned HG Ground-Gundam/GM - but you could kitbash said pieces onto BD2 and having to find something similar to the shoulder pads as seen in the last few panels. The HG Revive of BD1 has a head piece based on Naoki's redesign for the manga, plus including the original head as intended by Okawara-sensei, so you get best of both worlds.

I'd assume if those three chapters concluded the story it wouldn't be listed as 'on hiatus'. That implies there's still more to do. I hate it when that happens, it's worse then when official translations stop being produced since at least fan translations can start up for things like that.

I do, in fact, own said HG Revive model kit, but it has a weird problem where the waist won't stay put, probably because of that extra piece that they stuck on there. I also managed to snag the P-Bandai Efreet Kai while I was in Japan in 2023, so if I wanted to kitbash it with a BD2 at some point, I theoretically could. It's quite a nice kit, and it's a shame it's an exclusive. Admittedly, in terms of HGs I would want, this BD2 is now up there with a Striker Custom and a Full Armor Slave Wraith.

Well, I guess I shouldn't have used "conclude." "Continue" was a better word, but that was on me.
