Or, have you ever thought that maybe, the creature whose entire skillset and livelihood are derived from hiding and mimicking stuff, wouldn't be keen on socializing? Mimics are pretty much always portrayed as loners.

She asked to join that boy's TRPG group in a previous comic and he said sure, so she probably has friends. She's just playing with imaginary friends when they aren't around and she gets bored. Lots of kids who have plenty of friends do that, not just solitary ones. Kids get bored very easily, but are also very creative in finding ways to play alone (and with others!)
