Btw. Is the girl the witch girl with twintails from chapter 26 and also the daughter of the werewolf woman? Did she get the dog from chapter 29? If this would be true, this would be quite tragic, because she would have had the dog for a very short time.

The problem with this is that the people that turned into stone are just trapped in stone from the looks of it.
This is implying that the dog is DYING in the trapped stone while FORCED to do the pose.

Well, it depends on what kind of petrification it is. If it's the most commonly used one in fiction, the dog isn't conscious, so it's fine because it doesn't feel any pain or anything.
