They are way too touchy-feely with a stranger, it is obvious they are picking his pockets each time, particularly with them cooperating and running in to distract him and pulling the other away so it doesnt seem weird if it tugs a bit as their hand retracts, and so on. Granted I don't know more about pickpocketing than I learned from oliver twist (and stories that copy it), but feels like it matches up with them.

Of-course, they could just be making him used to them being near and acting to touch him, so that they can suddenly stab him with a blade some time, without the animals or him reacting in time (particularly important as in manga "killing intent" is a thing).

Page 43 bothers me.
I don't know much about the complexities of bows & archery, but I do know that if you're storing a bow in the long term, then you have to unstring/destring/whatever it so that it isn't under constant tension. If you have ever tried or seen someone try to string a bow, eg a longbow, then you'll see that it has to be bent slightly to get the string in place. If you leave the string in for too long then you'll lose tension in the bow itself & therefore lose power in it.

It's like leaving batteries in a torch/flashlight for years, it'll still work, but the batteries (tension) will have slowly lost power & they will need replacing. That might be a bad analogy, but whatever.
