I think the yakuza nowadays ain’t this crazy harsh anymore nor expanding. Especially since japans laws nerfed the yakuza pretty hard in terms of finances.

The Yakuza has changed the way it operates, now due to the laws members face many restrictions and a lot of pressure. So the younger members are actually not registering as Yakuza with the organizations, this creates “Hangures.” Of course, there are many exceptions to the rules but in general lower-ranking members are not registered and work for the members.
