The near drowning PTSD is pretty unsetteling honestly. Mizuki cant even go to a public pool without having spirits surround her. And her thing is that she can't see them like Shizuru right? Therefore, things like the eel spirits in the pool she cant even see. I assume she could see the big lizard though, but that doesnt make that less scary. Also cool fact about the names btw. Also, like how Keiko is back and taking her out again, seems like a good bond they have.

Maybe, but I feel this notion of turning a negative thing into a positive thing is potentially quite uplifting? If you believe in it, it's like "we acknowledge this tragic event of the past, but instead of it cursing the land, through worship we will ensure that many more people will be saved because of it than suffered initially". The initial woman was sad at the death of her child, but now instead of hurting others in revenge, she saves other people instead.
