Interesting ability activation method. He needs to come up with a whole make-believe scenario to trigger it. It's like those Peter Griffin's cutaways, where anything could happen. I guess we'll keep seeing the characters change outfits and jobs a lot.

The setting itself is quite interesting, but does the author think that Royle spent ALL of those 15 years guarding the gate? No sleep? No free time? That's ridiculous. He HAD to talk in his everyday life to communicate with others, e.g., while shopping. Why the hell would he be this bad at talking?
