Living life with no emotions would certainly be easier, but having emotions is what makes us human beings and so sacrificing your humanity for an easier life just doesn't seem worth it.
I dunno where I heard it from or if my mind is just making it up, but you've gotta be selfish about love cuz all's fair in love and war; you've gotta take the chance cuz you'll have yourself to blame for any regrets that ensue. Ninomiya is right about him being a coward and I do understand, but getting your feelings out there really clears a lot. It's just frustrating that it's so difficult :/
