WTF it can't be over, we never learn who Wakaba won the Fudo bowl!

Wakaba trying to pin-up pose with her learner's float <3

Axed? Seriously?
This doesn't feel like an axe, or if it is it took a long time to fall. It feels more like the mangaka ran out of road and didn't feel up to building a new one.

Going into this, I was hoping for romance and got thoroughly disappointed. I expected as much when the final arc announcement happened, but a part of me was still hoping for something

Instead, we got fanservice :pepela:

Looking back at it, the serialization was the climax of the story, but it really didn't feel like it at the time. Can't help but feel like this was met with an axe, sadly...

and it's axed. you can clearly tell how much author still want to tell story by some cameo at the end. it was pretty good read that bogged down by inconsistent plot, and for series that supposed about expressing art, the characters art definitely lacking and the female characters are not distinguishable enough in design, especially face. but everything else has solid art. also the romance interaction went nowhere instead instead got kinda harem bait? which not direction i was welcoming. the story also lack of impact story wise, other than some really nice art expression. overally 7/10, understandable get axed, hope author made better series next time.

So it finally happened. This manga lasted way longer than how it was originally planned due to low sales, but the support from the readers made this possible. I was really happy when the series would continue back then, but it kinda lost its magic halfway through not gonna lie. Still a shame this got axed though.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

I actually REALLY liked the story. I thought well done. It was more about the process of writing a story. This is actually super sad. You don't get stories like this, they are so rare. I actually thought the characters were well developed. I thought we could involve ourselves a little bit more with Wakaba and the artist friend. I still thought the slow build-up of the relationships, the process of writing the manga, everything about the story was super captivating. The dialogue was great, the characters where fun to read, the story was still entertaining (to me at least). It thought we were mixing the manga development with the human character well. Usually, there's a lot of focus on just people doing manga stuff, that we don't see how they develop their mangas in story... but this one actually went the distance and pulled us in to read and create the manga itself!

This was great! Damn it! Why does good stuff have to suffer like this!

And Monochrome Days finally comes to an end. I am a little sad it only went to 5 volumes, but overall I enjoyed this manga. Its always nice seeing stories about working in the manga industry, and this one had the right balance of realistic growth and struggle while having great charm. Both MCs were great and balanced each other out. I didn't really ship them together, but Im totally down for it. I do wish we were able to spend more time on the other characters, but for what we got, still pretty good. Monochrome Days is a 7.5-8 for me

It blows that it ended so soon, but it is what it is. I really enjoyed this one and ended well enough. Great story.

Man, another good series ending on M+.
First it was No Gyaru in This Class, then it was Blue Box, now this... that's like a third of the series I read on there, only ones left are Axed Mangaka and Doujin Creator, Osananananajimi, So You Weren't Into Me?!, SPY x FAMILY, and RuriDragon - and 3 of those were only added in the last year or so, which means they might still get axed since they don't have enough "tenure" so to speak.

So that's Fridays and now Saturdays too where I'd no longer have anything to look forward to on M+, so I'm down to only Sundays and Wednesdays now. Man... :nyoron:
