So the survivor group leader's plan was to use the civilians as cover and escape if they had to. I guess as a last resort it's a bit ruthless, but understandable.

The dog is the main character to me (hopefully the slime will be too). In apocalypse setting, mc prioritize himself isn't wrong but the constant mindset of "there's nothing i can do" when it comes to others' lives is super annoying at this point.
