unsettling! it has a unique sense of pressure and unease to it. the quick pacing is also good

It's interesting that the monster thought "its gun" would work.

An adult (or even another kid) would know it's a toy.

Something watching Mi Guo play with the gun wouldn't be able to tell what it's "supposed" to do.

Most plausible explanation is that it thinks the gun works because Mi Guo thinks the gun works.
