If I remember correctly, all those chapters had to do for the MC was walk back and forth between two buildings to milk, and that's all he did. Like, even the MC is falling out of favor with the author, he's just a pair of hands at this point.

My understanding is that Oyakado is bored with this. He doesn't know where to take it, he wants to do something else, but the publisher wants MOAR MONMUSU.
The early setup doesn't let him move the focus completely and send Darling and the Harem off to a farm in the country while he does an isekai monstergirl summoner adventure or whatever, so he's just spinning his wheels while drawing lactation fetish porn* and BREAST MILK BEAMU!

I think the creator himself said he's run out of ideas for stuff to do with the main girls. So it looks like we'll be having more content like this. Not that I personally mind, but I do wanna see more main girl content sometimes. Like... exploring more backstories, perhaps?

I still wish he hadn't self-cancelled his other series, 12 Beast (the more action themed one with monstergirls and otaku ninja MC). Like if he ran out of ideas for Monmusu, he could go work on 12 until he gets ideas for Monmusu again.

I mean, to be honest, what is there left for them to do other than just straight up fuck? All of them live together, kiss, and touch each other on the regular with the main dude. They've done everything but fuck. The main, original conceit of the manga was that they couldn't fuck because it was illegal, but that's been gone for like a decade at this point, and it's such a sex-positive culture with tons of freedom of expression in love and relationships that it makes it hard to believe that it'd end in such a non-harem ending. And most of the monster girls are totally fine with the MC having more than one partner (other than Lamia), that it can't possibly end in anything other than harem end. So, we know where the relationships are going.

It's a fun monster-girl universe, so it's probably more interesting for the writer to write and introduce new monster-girls than it is to spend time on the old ones.

I'm liking Giantess, also he's been REALLY into Umamusume, so I'm hoping for a variety of Non-Centaur Horse-girls who are larger than the MC. For anyone who doesn't know, he's the one who made the original observation of "Man the westerners are really into large sized Uma" tweet that got popular.

i feel like this universe really would work for a bunch of one shots of funny monster girl shenanigans. end this series on a harem ending and then make some one shots seems like the optimal route. but hes gonna keep on milking this money till he dies

I LOVED that arc, even with the breast milk, because it wasn't just about the milking. It had a plot and character beats, essentially a minor short horror story of a harem growing out of control. Like, even just the progression of milking one cow as a subset of chores, turning into half of his day, into all of his day as they grow more and more attached/addicted. That's a fun story! Affection turning into obsession, as all of the cows realize that he isn't staying. That sudden turn into horror! That's funny! That's an actual idea and not going from milking fantasy to milking fantasy.
