Probably they are on it too. This has been going on for almost 15 years and the fanbase left is probably made up by looney gooners that push for this stuff.

The marriage plot was due to the series going mainstream and having to keep family values to get published in a "wholesome" magazine.

Now that it's been kicked from the original publisher, and any chances of more anime seasons are zero, the author moved it to a more risque publisher that will allow him to write the story the way he always intended.

What a big shame, first 35-40 chapters were very wholesome and a great harem series that I'd give solid 9, even bought first a couple volumes,

But after that this shit dropped into 3/10 at best, I definitely have no interest in buying anymore volume of this and to be honest even forcing myself to read it just because I've been reading it for 10 years

I mean, this comic was never about plot, it was about "plot". It was about the writer's barely disguised undisguised fetish. That said, I think that this has gotten dumber than I could have ever realized was possible.

I think he tried that with 12 Beasts but it never went anywhere.

It was going somewhere, but as I recall the demand for a focus on this and the work of juggling both he had a bit of a mental breakdown and canceled it himself even when the editors were apparently just suggesting a hiatus. So now we're stuck with his desire to do world building on a monster girl world stuffed into the goofy harem series instead.
