I made the right decision going to this after Pluto and 20th Century Boys! This is Fantastic! I was a bit worried after the second volume (of the Perfect Editions) because it was not nearly as gripping as the first bit.
While compelling, I found the whole Neo-Nazis Plotline going there oddly... Idk, I just didn't feel the intensity, a lot was going on or something.
But, two more volumes of the perfect edition later and HOLY cow! The build up in the fourth volume is crazy! I think Urasawa's on his way to being my third favorite mangaka beside Makoto Yukimura and Hirohiko Araki.
Also, on a side note, I think I'm going to change my preference for possessive GFs.
Dear Lord, Eva creeps me out. What's exciting though is I have no idea where her particular character arc is going, but I'm certain she's not done. Talk about obsessed.
Finally finished it today. What a finale, had me in tears. I don't know what to think about the last chapter's revelation though. Kinda reminds me of 20th century boy (well 21st century boy). Both series were good, but the ending bit left me feeling. IDK.
still a masterpiece.
