The problem isn't which party contributed more to the orc subjugation, but the fact a foreign, neighboring army trespassed onto their territory's borders which forced them to take part in the subjugation. A conflict that they were not aware of, and took place near a populated city. It's suspicious as fuck, and without any intention of any warning about the subjugation in the first place, despite being so close to the border, raises alarm bells on any international level. Just going by diplomatic transgressions, this is enough to spark a war with the right pretext between the neighboring country. The fact that all blame falls onto Dark's army for being incompetent enough to let the orcs escape and spill into a sovereign country's land is enough leverage for the opposing side to put them through the diplomatic wringer through these negotiations. They have little room to refuse their demands considering their seemingly dubious relationship.

Wow, I can't believe I missed something so obvious. It practically looks like a failed war attack with the intention of gauging the defense of the Holy Accord group. In that case, I guess the normal move is blame a scapegoat and punish some random guy who supposedly did the diplomatic muck-up with demotion or banishment or whatever as an excuse to keep status quo and give both sides face? I'm not as sure for this then, mostly because normally when this happens in the stories I read they just jump to war (because anime logic).

Hmm, forsooth.
The politics that the world is allowed to achieve because the mc isn't God awful OP is amazing. Really lets us see how the planet revolves on its own and not around the protagonist every move.
I know that sounds weird seeing as Dark caused this situation, but it isn't as simple as a Grenada where the 'good guy's can walk in wearing nothing but their underwear and still win. There's push back to every step forward, progression is found in the pressure between trying to do better and being countered by rival forces. I've always loved that about this manwha.
