I hope the daughter dies, just so he knows that he was an idiot for believing that some incense will cure her daughter. Too bad it's going to end up in her operating on the daughter and rescuing her.

@Siikalahna, Considering today, even with the internet, modern technology and all the information and knowledge at your fingertips, that many people believe in faith healing and natural remedies (such as incense burning), it really is quite understandable for an Ancient Chinese man to believe in it as well.

Frankly, I know its immature of me to already hate her for slapping our good boi and clearly both father and daughter's actions were semi justified. She's basically bearing with the pain through snorting painkillers (did I get it right?), so she has the strenght and willpower to slap him, and status wise to her she wasn't wrong and he apologized but gosh darn it, I still want her to suffer a bit. As for the father, clearly her methods are way too advance in that era, but eh. Its hard to believe it but she already gave out her warning. If she decided to leave right there and then, its their fault then. Is the weakness MC's father mentioned her being oblivious/insensitive to her own words (which are absurd to the current era)?

@Nicromatic
Coming from a 3rd world country, specifically the Philippines whose one known trait is being overly religious and also a combination of heavy poverty, we at the province, especially my mother and her generation still trust on natural remedies. If it were up to her, she'd rather grow her own plants needed for treatment (oregano, malunggay (horseradish/moringa(?), lampunaya (coleus), lagundi (chaste tree), and would only go to the doctors if it had been more than a week of symptoms of mild sickness (like coughing). Heck, she'd rather have massages first (hilot), *funny story, got scolded by our school physician once when I needed to go back to school due to exams but was still having a coughing fit and told them the fact my mother insisted natural remedies first*. Back to the plot, I also can't fully blame the father but eh, their loss. Judging from the methods of those healers, I'm surprised of the number of notoriety or even success from them. In that era, even if its in Japan, shouldn't acupuncture be at least the more prevalent?

Ah yes... I see what she lacks...

Explanation... or should I say persuasive power ?
As a doctor you need to explain and make your patients believe wholeheartedly that she/he need this treatment, if you can’t even explain the urgency of situation well you might as well become priest and just leave everything to god.
