tanazaki's view of death row is very interesting cuz it's the closest to how we outside the closet view the death penalty. it isn't till you come accustomed to how the inmates spend their lives and whether or not their atoning on the road to their punishment that you begin to forget that death is their punishment after all
since chapter 1. i really loved this portrayl of nepotism. tho nepo babies usually use their connections to live an easier life. it's interesting seeing how nao essentially used his to get him into a harder one, just so that he could live up to his father's image and be a proper adult man.
