Loving seeing the comments in the general thread. I'm actually very bummed that it didn't go the poly route that everyone predicted. It's an incredibly small niche in yuri and literally everything was signaling that it was going to go that way, then it didn't. I'm curious if this manga got the axe and had to finish up after the one date with Sayo and Mei. Because things felt a bit skewed towards Sayo near the end.

When Rinna said "wanting the person you love to be happy is also love" and Mei saying that she's never seen love as warm and beautiful as that. I thought it was still veering into poly land, then it just didn't. You can have both Mei!!! Your teachers got it! The epilogues kinda hint that they still might be together in some way? Like the Bonus chapter title page, which isn't here, has them all in wedding dresses together. But the last page is Rinna being nervous that there's one bed.

Oh well, it was still a fun and cute read, even though the ending left me wanting more.

Okay, here's the thing. That Sayo X Rinna moment a while back seems to me like a waste of time now. This is a basic rule of storytelling, don't mention things that won't be relevant later. If a gun is placed on a wall, someone needs to get shot.

Buuuuuuut... everything else about this story was just about perfect. Didn't expect it to make me think this deeply about love and how it makes you see and act towards others. Surprising underrated gem of a manga this was.

What a disappointing ending. Don't get me wrong it's a decent story but it could have really been a great story. If someone told me that it was axed and the final chapters were rushed, I wouldn't doubt it for a second. I don't want to believe that the author did the setup so perfectly only to trip at the finish line.

I mean, Mei's teacher showed her that the polyyuri route was possible. The counseling session fixed a lot of her misconceptions about relationships and also helped the other characters move their relationship forward. The Rinna x Sayo moment even offered a teaser of what we can expect. All the author had to do was follow the arrows laid out in front of them and finish the story. Instead, it seemed as if they wanted to subvert expectations, which is fine but the execution just wasn't there.

I'm not even mad that the polyyuri ending didn't happen. I'm fine with Mei x Sayo or even Mei x Rinna. Hell, I would even have been fine with Sayo x Rinna . But the execution needed to be there and it wasn't. Five or ten more chapters could have really helped resolve things smoothly.

We would get to see Rinna's recovery which I think is really important. After all, she quit being an idol to chase her true love because the love of multiple people just wasn't enough.

How they managed to remain friends and roommates. Rinna and Sayo were already really awkward about the accidental kiss. But with Mei x Sayo being the final pairing, how do any of them deal with their feelings.

Also, the scene of Mei, Sayo and Rinna in bed together felt really forced. Like it was put there to appease the polyyuri crowd. It just didn't feel genuine. If the author wanted to show that their relationship is still on positive terms, they should have found another way.

The ending legit turned a potential 8/10 story into a 5/10 story.

2 years late but whatever; I gotta comment when I gotta comment. Very rushed from the point Mie realizes her feelings and a two whole year time skip in a single chapter. Maybe a 25 chapter with proper resolves would have been better, but I can live with this. The childhood friend wins and Rinna was always easy to fall in love (or she loves people in general) so it makes sense.

I'm going to give this a 7/10.

I really liked this one and I'm happy with the ending, I'm just happy with seeing those two together, I kinda get people that are sad by no poly ending, but I'm happy with this ending, it was really cute

Edit: how did someone get mad with my comment? Really... why?

This had a lot of depth to it. So many moments in the story had subtle cues that really hinted at how messy and imperfect love can be. Even the strongest loves can change, fade, grow, evolve, or even be shattered. To me this story was less about dating, and more about explaining how many forms and changes love can take.

The moment with Mei's teacher and her lovers was to show Mei how many routes love can take, and that should her love lead there then it'll be okay. In the end Mei chose to love Sayo, even with her love for Rinna. It did seem like a red herring or a Chekov's Gun at first, but thinking back the teachers fulfilled their role. They educated Mei on how varying love can be, and how long it can last.

My biggest bone to pick was that in the end they said that Rinna was able to love many people earnestly. Originally Rinna said she was tired of that and wanted to find one singular love. The contradiction really made her character seem wishy-washy in regards to her determination.

In the end I give this an 8 out of ten. The story was great and the character's roles were superb, but it feels like Rinna was just used as a plot device and then thrown away once the author got their point across.
