What's the status of the manga itself? Is it still likely to be cancelled due to low sales? This chapter does have me feeling their setting up the climax due to the plausible axe.
Sales could've been better and don't exactly match the popularity. Shoseki physical sales were around 1600 for the first volume I think and the second volume didn't rank weekly so we don't know sales numbers for volume 2. Digital sales are usually about 60 percent of the sales. So for 2000 physical sales you'd have 5000 total sales. I think the sales requirement for dora dora sharp, the magazine, is about 5000 total sales. But this manga has been licensed in France and is pretty popular, so it made it beyond the common two volume kadokawa axe. And digital sales could be higher than 60 percent. Web manga like dora dora sharp has lower sales requirements than magazine published ones.
Like always, if you like the manga you should buy and support it, every sales count and you can just as easily buy a digital volume on bookwalker or similar as the Japanese. It's only around $5 for a volume.
