@yumian: i agree. It was totally unnecessary and stupid. It could just be her wanting to travel around the world and begging her doting parents. There was no need for an idiotic prince and his bitchy lover to appear. Not to mention the plot where MC - a Duke's daughter, got her engagement annulled and got banished out of nowhere, yet her father had to slowly find ways to help her is stupid af. Isn't a duke a highest ranking noble? Who is that prince to banish a duke's daughter that easily?
