at least, in the novel it wasn't exactly him that makes her form a party and she still isn't prone to preferring parties, but she does party up sometimes to teach newer adventurers like the A Rank minotaur we see here.

I honestly don't know, but his presence actively detracts from the best parts of the story, I feel.

I always felt this story should really focus on Shirley being a single badass mother, taking care of her daughters, and having wholesome parent child relationships. Forcibly injecting a male trying to win her affection, seems to run contrary to the point of Shirley's backstory as a character, and pushes forth the idea that every woman needs a man in their life.

@Yurisivel I agree 100%, while I do think it's good for Shirley to have more to rely on in the area, I really wish he'd get over his idea of being "worthy of her" and she'd reject him out right and not end up with her. No idea how it goes eventually (not even sure the novels are actually done tbh), but I do think he is the weaker aspects of the story.

But, I don't hate the idea of someone being there for her to rely on as a friend, but I don't want it to be a "she needs a man in her life" like you said. Though, so far, never felt like she NEEDED him, she is pretty badass on her own I can't wait until the manga gets to what volume 2 of the novel has.

According to the novel readers, there is no romance and Kyle is just the loser the author uses to explain more stuff.

It's pretty rare for the whole "person drawn naked in exposition dump about them" thing to come with explicit nudity vs just the character's general naked form, so this redrawing definitely comes off as strange even if it didn't look weird.

But I guess it lives up to the scanlation team's name to do it.
