Well the sword isn't consistent across the manga, they use the rule of cool. In some parts the swords have a tsuka (japanese sword handle) other time it's a regular arming sword with a fancy guard. And to respond to the guy above me, the ricasso is generally non existent on a flamberge as the classic ones are generally one handed (arming sword and longsword length.)

not really. We didnt go into Kyle's head really, but its basically been adapting it straight other then skipping the prologue. I think Yumina has been the most actually reduced character so far, and i can get that considering shes kinda just... there? like her job in the narrative is to routinely physically maim Canary

We also spent 8 chapters/currently 40% of the entire story on getting the medicine and core gems of the broaches. and Leia cannot shoulder the burden of floof necessary to carry this series when Shirley is in serious mode because the twins are indisposed.

Edit: oh and i think we skipped the Legend of the Half Immortals since while relevant overal, only Shirley the White Demon Sword and Golden Witch Canary are currently major characters. the 2 male immortals wont show up unless we get to book 4, and the Angel wont show up until book 6 UNLESS they pull her backstory chapter way earlier.

I said generally, I'm well of the two haded weapons. I singled out the one handed ones as they were much more common, for all types of swords. You don't really want to sacrifice defence for reach unless there is a special reason for doing so.

What happens to her ex-fiance?

Despite him becoming Emperor and marrying her sister. He's pretty much incompetent as a ruler, the Empire is suffering from too much taxes and is on the decline. He has no heirs with his wife. He finds out later that he is the father of Shirley's daughters. Numerous failed attempts trying to kidnap said daughters lead to almost diplomatic incident and the two nations set up a duel of representatives to settle matters.

Shirley easily wins the duel, he loses all rights to his daughters, when he tried to appeal to his daughters even they reject him saying they never had a father(this is due Shirley revealing to the twins the circumstances of their birth during the whole kidnapping attempts), all records about Shirley get destroyed so he can't claim he's the father again.

He's basically forced to execute his long time friend(who slept with his wife) for murdering innocent civilians. During the duel, Shirley sliced the castle in half from a distance. His own little sister is basically undermining his rule and changing the Empire bit by bit. And he pretty much doesn't have allies among the nobility, they only see him as a puppet ruler they can manipulate to keep their privilege and luxury. However with the new police like force made of commoners to replace the knights that was done by his little sister, even the nobles will prosecuted for their crimes. He'll probably be the last Emperor at this rate, his little sister doesn't care cause mainly she sees it as his and his wife's fault for the deaths of their parents and destroying the future she hoped to have with Shirley being her older sister-in-law.

What happens to Shirley's sister?

It's pretty much as bad as it gets for her too. She can't have children, it's implied she's infertile. Her looks that got her by before, she's now aging badly and she's using everything to try and stay beautiful. She gets extremely jealous when she sees Shirley still looking the same as she did when they were younger. Her position as wife is pretty much in danger since she can't have children. And due to the Emperor's long time friend trying to get revenge on Shirley, her body got severely damage/messed up that she has to cover up. She was pretty much cheating on her husband anyway by sleeping with any man who give her what she wanted. So just desserts here. She basically can't do anything and is a ruined woman. In the end Shirley has everything she wants, eternal youth and beauty, two lovely daughters, and pretty much the attention of every man. Even the Empire nobility looked at Shirley with lust.
