I was re-reading this and saw that chapters 40, 41 and 42 are missing. I know Kirei Cake did them, but mangadex is where they upload to, not their own site.

You will understand that MC is yet another cardboard character only on 84-85th chapter, until then author will put an effort to dicive you that MC act from inner settings not because author's arbitrariness.
