The author is stronger than god for that comment there at the end. As someone who doesn't write because of all the in-between that needs to be properly written out for the story beats you plan in your head, and how much time and stress it takes to parse the minutiae from your ideas, through yourself, and "into the ink"...them pushing through it all to bring their ideas to life is inspiring.

PD: the implication from the author is that, even if they want to make a happy ending, the premise they set up DEMANDS some more toxic shit to happen, before they are allowed to be all over each other consensually and in any kind of positive relationship.
