I agree with everything you said except for the last part. I think at this point, Nao needs to do a little proving to her that he isn’t the guy his friend said he was. I know he’s the main male lead and the brother of the previous female lead, but still. We don’t know much about him or how he feels about current FEMC so he should show some interest on his end this time.

True, at this point, while we haven't seen Nao do anything too bad, just seeing him being friendly with multiple girls yet not seriously engaging with any of them would make him an enemy of many guys and girls with multiple assumptions about him. We only know a little of what he is from the previous series, but he'll need to be fleshed out more here to be a more invested character.
