So... Wait... This is an escape teleport ring that triggers when the wearer is stabbed by a sword. So far so good. Except it brings nearby people with it.

When you're stabbed by a sword, the most likely candidate for "nearby people" is the person who stabbed you. This thing just takes your attacker with you.

If you want to find inconsistencies, also look at the time it took to trigger.
Long enough that, under these expected circumstances, the stabber likely has time to stab the ring holder multiple times.

Seriously, this ring has been handed to him by someone who has literally read the script and tailored the ring accordingly. The conditions of activation, the delay, the people subjected to the teleport and the destination, this looks like it was entirely decided for this very specific circumstances.
Apparently, the healing spell was even made to trigger on the user being stabbed by a holy sword. Doesn't this seem awfully specific?

Dude falsely accused someone, nearly killed them, and in the end still acted like the victim.

So, it turns out Rachael's master wasn't plotting against Lobelia, but at the same time he gave him a pretty crazy magic ring. The healing effect is obviously okay, but the utterly random teleportation is beyond haphazard, as made evident here.
