I came to the comments to also ask about the necklace. I didn't get any self-harm vibes from it, though. I just thought the necklace had some other meaning I wasn't aware of, like maybe it's the sign used for the ane-katsu service or maybe it's some symbol of her past that she's deciding to abandon in favor of the one she wishes to build with him.
