I've never been a fan of shota characters in any form (they're often worse versions of male MCs). They always seem to act as the straightman in the jokes and get paired with a huge oppai characters because they're too much of a virgin character that its meant to be funny. At least the author for the dragon-maid series whose spinoff features and dragon onee-san and shota (whose name is actually shota-kun) goes through with the fanservice, but still, its not really funny.
