As much as id like to believe most authors come from a place of writing from experience. I tend to err on the side doubt for manga. Most commodified, easily fetishized media that has been male dominated for so long, tropes around how they write female characters are rightfully criticized as one dimensional. Like i wish series that wrote competent characters were more commonplace, but i can only think of so few especially in the sex-gag genre. As a whole i feel this genre will never be there for insight and just be there for titilation and humor, whether its actively the author making reference to that limitation or just writing their barely disguised fetish, we'll never know.

I do think its a cultural thing, i am ace tho, i have 0 care nor interest in that aspect, so it might be me speaking from this perspective.
